Cory Ellis

Cory Ellis, a Foreign Corespondent for Arkansas: Abroad, currently lives in Cario, Egypt.  The son of an Air Force Colonel, Cory grew up in Germany, Hawaii, and Illinois, but Arkansas is his adopted home.  He attended Cabot High School for a time but graduated high school in East Saint Louis. He then returned the natural state to attend college at the University of Arkansas where he graduated in May of 2010 with degrees in Middle Eastern Studies and International Relations and minors in Arabic, History, and Economics.

Today Cory is attending George Washington University, obtaining a masters in Middle Eastern Studies with a concentration in U.S. Foreign Policy.  He lives in Cairo, Egypt where he is studying abroad for a semester before heading off to Syria in the summer of 2011 to work with UNHCR.  The slow pace of Egyptian life suits Cory well as he whittles most of his days away in tiny street side cafes talking to old men about politics and religion.

Cory spends much of his time reading on his Kindle. He enjoys watching television and views it as a form of art like music or paintings. His guilty pleasure is trashy reality shows.
